Jabatix ("we", "us" or "our") is a platform that allows users of Excel or other spreadsheet software to create or modify calculation commands outside the spreadsheet. This makes the entire calculation process more transparent and easier to verify.

Jabatix's privacy policy covers the collection, use and disclosure of personal information that Jabatix may collect when you interact with the company, for example when you visit the website, purchase Jabatix products or services, or contact our sales and support staff. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with our privacy policy, as this section contains important information about our principles, what information we collect, how we protect your information, and to whom we disclose this information.

Our Principles

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and comply with applicable data protection law, in particular the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our approach can be summarised in a single sentence: personal data is only processed if the data subject has given their consent, if it is necessary for the performance of a contract, or if the GDPR or another law permits or requires the processing. We will never make your data available to third parties without your prior consent. In addition, we have defined the following principles:

  • We will continue to invest in high-quality security measures and do everything in our power to protect users' personal data.

  • We will not disclose users' personal data (including your email address) to third parties unless you have given your prior consent.

  • We ensure at all times that contractors with whom we work in relation to the website and other services (e.g. hosting providers) are subject to strict contractual obligations. They may only process data on our behalf and in accordance with our principles and specifications, and may not use it for any other independent purposes.​

Data Processing on the Website

Personal data is collected to the extent that is technically necessary. Under no circumstances will the data collected be passed on to third parties without the consent of the persons concerned. The following explanations provide an overview of how Jabatix ensures this protection and what type of data is collected, processed or used on the websites for what purpose.


Operational metrics and telemetry data that Jabatix processes independently for security, billing, analysis or product improvement purposes ("service data") are not considered personal data of customers.


Jabatix does not intentionally collect special categories of personal data, sensitive personal data or precise geolocation data, and instructs customers not to upload such information. This definition includes all equivalent terms in other data protection laws that come into force during the term of this policy.

Collection and Use of Information

Jabatix automatically collects and stores some of the information typically transmitted by browsers in its server log files, provided your browser provides it. Jabatix cannot assign this data to specific individuals. This data is not merged with other data sources.
 

  • Information you provide directly: When you create an account, purchase a subscription, open a support ticket, or otherwise use our services, you may provide personal data such as your name, business email address, phone number, and payment information (which is processed through Stripe; for details on the processing of your card and transaction data, please see Stripe's privacy policy).

  • We do not store complete payment card details. Stripe serves as the source for billing records, which are anonymised usage metrics shared with us for billing purposes.
     

We process this information on the legal basis of contract performance, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent for the following purposes:

  • provision, operation and maintenance of the services, including the provision of applications;

  • analysing usage patterns and improving performance, functionality, and reliability;

  • detecting, preventing, and investigating fraud, abuse, or security incidents;

  • to provide product updates and measure the effectiveness of our own marketing;

  • to communicate with you and provide customer support, to the extent permitted by your account settings;

  • to process payments and other transactions authorised by you;

  • to comply with legal, regulatory, export control and sanctions obligations in the countries where we operate; and

  • to comply with record retention, accounting and auditing requirements.

Legal Bases on which We Rely

  • Performance of a contract: We process your data to provide, maintain and support the services you have requested in accordance with our Terms of Use or any other agreement with you.

  • Legitimate interests: We use personal data to secure the platform, detect fraud, create aggregate analytics, and improve features, provided that these interests are not outweighed by your privacy rights.

  • Consent: We rely on your consent for non-essential cookies, marketing emails, and any other processing that requires consent under applicable law. You may withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

  • On our websites, web controlling technologies are used to collect and store data in anonymised form for optimisation purposes only. Jabatix uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, for example. This data is used to create usage profiles under a pseudonym on the basis of Art. 6 (1) f GDPR. Cookies may also be used for this purpose, but they only collect and store data in pseudonymous form. The data is not used to personally identify visitors to this website and is not merged with data about the bearer of the pseudonym. You have the option of configuring your browser so that you are informed as soon as cookies are to be placed, so that you can then reject them if you wish. In addition, you can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting your web browser settings accordingly. However, this may mean that you will not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent. No personal data is stored. The user's IP address is made unrecognisable and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the visitors to this website. Users who do not wish to participate in conversion tracking can deactivate it via their browser.

  • Legal obligations: We store and disclose information to the extent necessary to comply with export control and sanctions regulations, court orders or other legal obligations.

  • Protection of vital interests: In rare cases, we may process data to protect the vital interests of an individual, e.g. to prevent serious harm or respond to an emergency.
     

Purposes of use and processing: We use personal data for the following business and commercial purposes:
 

  • Provision and support of services: Provision and maintenance of our platform.

  • Service integrity: Ensuring the security and integrity of our services, including preventing fraud or unauthorised access.

  • Improving services and research: analysing prompts, usage data and generated outputs to refine algorithms, improve performance and develop new features; where possible, this analysis is conducted using anonymised or aggregated data.

  • Product updates and limited marketing: sending product announcements, event invitations and other communications that you have agreed to receive, and measuring their effectiveness. We may use your email address and usage data to send you offers. These are non-transferable and revocable.

  • Business continuity and security: protecting our business operations and proprietary data.

  • Legal and regulatory compliance: Complying with export control and sanctions regulations, court orders, and data protection laws.

  • Auditing, accounting and corporate governance: Conducting audits, reporting and corporate governance to ensure compliance and efficiency.

  • Dispute resolution and legal defence: Fulfilment of legal and regulatory obligations.

Data processing and sub-processors: As a data processor, Jabatix processes personal data on behalf of our customers in accordance with their instructions and applicable data protection regulations. We engage external sub-processors to support our services, for example:

  • Hosting and maintenance of our platform, website and databases.

  • Processing payments via secure third-party payment processors.

  • Providing technical support, customer service and analytics.

  • Storing and backing up data, including integrations with Supabase and GitHub.
     

All sub-processors are bound by contractual obligations that are equivalent to those in our data protection agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable data protection laws.​​

Log Data

When you use our services, Jabatix automatically collects operational telemetry data ("log data") that helps us secure and improve the platform. Log data may include:

  • The IP address and approximate location of your device.

  • Browser type and version.

  • Pages, APIs, or features you access within the Services.

  • Timestamps and the time you spent on certain screens or with certain features.

  • Unique session or device identifiers and error/debugging codes.

Data Retention

  • We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by applicable law, including:

  • Providing and improving our services.

  • Compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.

  • Resolving disputes or enforcing agreements. 

  • Links to other websites: Our services may contain links or integrations (e.g., payment providers) that are not controlled by Jabatix. Your interactions with these third-party services are subject to their own privacy policies and terms and conditions. We encourage you to review these policies before providing personal data, as Jabatix is not responsible for the privacy or security practices of external websites.

  • Notices and communications: By using the Services, you agree to receive transactional or administrative electronic communications from Jabatix, such as account notifications, security notices, and billing messages.​​​

Right to Information

You have the right to obtain information about the data stored about you, its recipients and the purpose of data processing. We are also available to answer any questions you may have about the collection, processing and use of your personal data.

General

Changes to this policy: Jabatix reserves the right to update or revise this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements or the services themselves. Your continued use of the services after the new policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

Severability clause: If any provision of this policy is unlawful, invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, that provision shall be interpreted to reflect its purpose as closely as possible, or, if that is not possible, shall be deemed deleted, with the remaining provisions remaining in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement: This policy, together with the Terms of Use, the applicable Data Processing Agreement and any supplemental product terms, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Jabatix with respect to privacy and data security in connection with the Services.
